Do you have a Twitch profile? Want to make it more attention-grabbing and informative to your audience? Consider writing a Twitch bio for your streaming profile to bring more viewers to your channel, and (hopefully) make more money in the process.

Twitch is a live streaming platform focused on gaming. Users can watch channel owners play video games in real time. They may also send donations to Twitch gamers. If you want to earn more on Twitch, your bio can prompt your viewers to donate.

As a platform, Twitch seeks to build out more unity and interaction among enthusiastic online gamers. It takes the idea of engaging in multiplayer games to the next level, giving outside users a chance to observe their live streams in real time. Gamers play while commenting live, and viewers can drop comments in the chat box while they watch.

What Your Twitch Bio Should Accomplish

Your Twitch bio should explain who you are, what you’re about, and why users should follow you–even pay you. Through your bio, users should be able to learn a bit about you and the content you create before they dive into your channel headfirst. Use your bio to give them a glimpse into your world.

The Ultimate Template for Twitch Bios

Want a quick and easy way to create your Twitch bio? We’ve created a template to help you build a bio for your Twitch profile. It starts out as a formula, which you can then fill in. Let’s take a look:

(Adjective / Descriptor) (Noun) (Games) (USP)

You’ll want to start with a descriptive word or phrase (Adjective / Descriptor), tell viewers who/what you are (Noun), describe the games you stream (Games), and include your unique selling proposition (USP). (Yes–just like brands have a USP, Twitch streamers should consider developing one for themselves. Here’s some info on how to do that yourself.)

Wondering how you can use this very basic template to set yourself apart? Check out these examples:

  • I’m an ex-military combat soldier who plays first-person shooter games on Xbox while highlighting real life combat strategies.
  • 4x champion gamer in PUB G tournaments streaming daily. Watch me blow stuff up and crash motorcycles into trees for fun.
  • Grouchy retail worker who takes out aggression in Kingdom Hearts on all the classic Disney Villains since I need to be nice to customers.
  • Full time office fan and part-time streamer who dives deep into story-based gaming with Michael Scott references added in. Come along for a ride you won’t forget.

Include a CTA to follow you, a donation panel, or any other relevant information that you want to mention in your bio. This a great opportunity to go into more details about the person behind the account. The main thing to keep in mind is that you want to give your potential streamers a reason to stay on your channel.

Overall, the bio should be brief, contain enough information that your viewers know what they’re getting, and should reflect your brand.

Other Things to Include

Once you’ve nailed down the main part of your bio, you might want to consider adding some more details to really round out your profile. These are all helpful things for your followers to know, and provide great talking points for your streaming community:

  1. Personal hobbies
  2. Stream schedule
  3. Donations
  4. Gear list
  5. Subscriber benefits

Adding these details will not only be helpful to your visitors, but will also give them some interesting background info about you as a person. Let’s go through them one by one:

Personal Hobbies

Your Twitch bio should be personal, but not too personal that it gives away confidential information. Here are some personal details that you could include:

  • Your favorite color
  • Pet names (you could even add a photo of your pet, or better yet: introduce them in your stream)
  • What you do when you’re not streaming (think hobbies or career)
  • Your favorite music (why not include a link to a YouTube playlist you made?)
  • Where you like to vacation

Things not to include are: personal details such as your birthdate or home address. You can still be personable in a way that protects your privacy. The below Twitch bio of user BriannahGrace does this really well. You can see she mentions a lot of personal history about her life and music, but still maintains a level of privacy:

Your Twitch Streaming Schedule

Your streaming schedule is exactly what it sounds like. Quite simply, it’s a place to display your dedicated streaming times and dates. Don’t forget to state your time zone–your viewers from different locations will thank you.

twitch stream schedule example

Donations

Some users will clearly state how they’ll use their donations, whereas others will simply add a “Donate now” button on their page. This is entirely up to you. If you are going to add this section, remember to be as clear as possible. Are you saving for a new recording setup? Do these donations go directly to your next month’s rent? Let your followers know! It’s also a perfect place to clarify that all donations are non-refundable, like this example below from Hiko:

twitch donate panel example

Subscriber Benefits

If you’re trying to grow your channel with more subscribers, it’s important to clearly explain the perks of being one. Do your subscribers get ad-free streaming? Free custom emotes? Shout-outs in the chat? Let them know, and give them a reason to subscribe. Pokimane’s Twitch profile is a perfect example:

Pokimane's Twitch bio example

Gear

Streamers will often want to know what gear you use and recommend. That’s why we suggest listing it in a gear section, where you name all of the equipment you use to create your streams (microphones, lighting rigs, webcams, PC setups). Beginner Twitch streamers will find this especially helpful, as they will be able to purchase the same gear and mimic your setup.

twitch gear panel example

Don’t Forget Your Twitch Panels

If you aren’t wanting such a text-heavy bio, putting this specified information on separate dedicated Twitch panels is a great alternative. Twitch panels are images you can include on your Twitch profile to brand your account and tell your users more about yourself, in addition to your bio. For gamers on Twitch, Twitch panels are an important part of your bio. Users utilize panels as a call to action (CTA) or informational banner that appears beneath the live stream on their profile.

You can use Twitch panels to give your audience additional information about yourself or your livestream. Additionally, you can use them to send viewers off-platform to engage with your brand elsewhere.

The best Twitch panel size is 320 x 160 pixels with a 2:1 aspect ratio. They should display clean, eye-catching designs that clearly communicate the purpose of each image. You’ll want your viewers to know, without a doubt, exactly what a panel’s CTA is and where its corresponding information will lead them.

Snappa has a library of ready-made Twitch panel templates that you can use for free. It’s simple to edit these templates to fit your own channel. Take a look at some of the available options, which are brightly colored, well designed, and easy to read:

snappa twitch panel examples

In Snappa, you can choose your own icons for each Twitch panel. Make sure to select a font that aligns with your brand’s design guidelines, and clearly communicate what you want your viewers to do next.

Throw in a Twitch Cover Image and Offline Banner

In addition to panels, Snappa offers free templates for Twitch offline banners and cover images. Your cover image acts as your Twitch profile banner, and your offline banner lets them know when you are not currently streaming a game.

snappa size dimensions example

The best Twitch profile banner/cover image size is 1200 x 480 pixels. This banner appears at the top of your profile and adds additional context to your presence on the platform.

Like Twitch panels, Snappa offers a library of pre-designed cover images to choose from. You can opt to use one that’s already made for you, or tweak it to make it your own.

We make it easy to create banners for Twitch, offering a wide array of fonts, colors, icons, and background images so you can truly help your Twitch channel stand out.

Finally, if you want a beautifully designed offline banner that alerts your viewers when you’re not gaming, then you can create one using a template from Snappa. The best Twitch offline banner size is 1920 x 1080 pixels and should clearly indicate to your viewers when you are offline.

Final Thoughts

Your Twitch bio is a rapid-fire way to tell viewers on the platform what they need to know about you, your brand, the games you live stream, and what you have to offer.

It’s important to support your bio with sharp images, including Twitch panels, a cover image, and an offline banner. When you tie all the visual elements together, it’s possible to create a truly engaging Twitch profile your users will want to come back to again and again.

You have an incredible book with an outstanding, binge-worthy story that’s sure to hook readers…but no one will know that if your eBook cover isn’t strong enough to entice them to open it.

The idea that “you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover” is well-intentioned, but your cover is a vital part of eBook marketing and sales.

The reality is that people do judge books by their covers all the time. Luckily, it’s possible to DIY your own eye-catching book cover so you can get your story out in the world.

In this post, we’re going to look at the best eBook cover sizes and best practices. Let’s dive right in.

The Best eBook Cover Size

ebook cover size guide

Wondering what the best eBook cover size is?

The best eBook cover size recommendations vary depending on what platform you’re using to publish. As a general rule, an aspect ratio of 1.6:1 works best for eBook covers across all platforms. This means that for every 1600 pixels in height, your eBook cover image should have 1000 pixels in width.

Even if your eBook cover size varies slightly from this recommendation, you want to be sure to stick to that 1.6:1 aspect ratio. For example, Snappa’s default eBook cover size is 1410 x 2250 pixels.

Kindlepreneur’s Dave Chesson provides an excellent chart of eBook cover requirements sorted by platform. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Apple Books: 1400 x 1873 pixels, or 1600 x 2400 pixels with a minimum width of 1400 pixels (JPG/PNG).
  • Barnes and Noble: Rectangular image with a recommended width of 1400 pixels, with a minimum of 750 pixels for the height and width. (JPG/PNG).
  • Draft2Digital: Tall, rectangular image at 1600 x 2400 pixels (JPEG).
  • Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP): 1600 x 2560 pixels with minimum dimensions of 625 x 1000 pixels, and a maximum limit of 10,000 x 10,000 pixels (JPEG/TIFF).
  • Kobo: 1600 x 2400 pixels with a minimum width of 1400 pixels (JPG/PNG).
  • Smashwords: 1600 x 2400 pixels with a minimum width of 1400 pixels (JPG/PNG).

In some cases, individual platforms provide additional details to help you further optimize your cover. For example, ensure your cover has a resolution of at least 72 dpi, KDP’s recommended resolution.

Should I Design My Own eBook Cover?

You can absolutely design your own eBook cover. If you want to create your book cover yourself, you can save money and keep full creative control over the aesthetic that you’re looking for.

Snappa offers stunning, fully customizable eBook cover templates that serve as a strong starting point for your cover design. They’re incredibly simple to set up, and no design experience is needed.

Here’s an easy video tutorial we made to break it down for you:

To get started, log into your Snappa account, navigate to the Blogging and Infographics section on your dashboard, and click on eBook Cover.

The 4 Best eBook Design Tips

Let’s look at a few eBook cover design tips to help your cover get readers’ attention and ultimately, sell more books.

Make Sure Your Title Stands Out

When designing your eBook cover, make sure your title stands out. Use Snappa’s standard font sizes as a general guide.

For example, your title should be large enough to read even in thumbnail form. Use a clear font and vary your text sizes, using smaller type for subheadings and the author name.

Take a look at the example below from Snappa’s eBook cover template library. The cover is simple, with plenty of contrast between the background image and the text.

clear title ebook example

Choose Color Palettes That Match Your Book’s Mood

Your eBook cover’s color palette conveys so much about the kind of experience your reader can expect. Stick to a cohesive color palette that matches the mood of your book.

For example, bright, bold colors might work well for a lighthearted recipe book, but not so much for a critical analysis of climate change.

Keep your personal brand as an author, plus the book’s topic, in mind when selecting background images, font colors, and any additional graphic elements. You want the aesthetic to be consistent across the board.

Keep It Simple

A simple eBook cover can be a powerful marketing tool. You want simple designs that contrast against the book’s main background so they stand out quickly. Potential readers are more likely to move on if they can’t read your title (or know what the book is about) at a glance.

The following book cover for this health guide leaves no question as to the subject matter or mood of its contents. Take a look:

Do Something Different From Your Competition

When it comes to designing an eBook cover, it pays to consider how you can be different from your competition. Simple can be highly effective, but so can the unexpected.

For example, Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight is one heck of an example of a powerful, unique cover. When it was released in 2009, its largely black cover with small amounts of white and red jumped out at readers.

Even though the design was a simple one that anyone could have created, it helped to capture attention on bookshelves around the world. It’s now iconic.

Final Thoughts

A great eBook cover design could make the difference between poor sales and stellar performance. If you want to create your own book cover, then it’s simple and straightforward to do so–and it doesn’t have to be expensive.

Want to try your hand at eBook cover design? It’s free to get started with Snappa. With the right combination of customizable images, bold fonts, and colorful design elements, you’ll be well on your way to creating an eye-catching cover.

Engaged views are great for YouTube content creators. But unless you’re happy to monetize exclusively through YouTube revenue, you want a way to get users to take action.

Even with a great CTA, you still want viewers to take more actions on your channel, like subscribing, viewing other videos you’ve created, and clicking out to your website.

YouTube end screens are key to capturing momentum on your channel and turning it into results.

Want to learn how to drive more viewer actions with YouTube end screens to keep the momentum going? Let’s get started.

What Are YouTube End Screens?

YouTube end screens play during the final 5 to 20 seconds of a long-form video on the platform. They can be included in videos over 25 seconds long.

End screens contain interactive calls to action (CTAs), such as clickable links to related videos, playlist links, and subscribe buttons. They can also feature images and graphic designs that align with your brand identity.

Here’s an excellent example from Hubspot, which contains three links, including a link to a related video, a subscribe button, and a link to the Hubspot Community website.

Why YouTube End Screens Matter

End screens are crucial for creators on the platform because they help keep viewers active and engaged on your brand’s YouTube channel.

Creating custom YouTube end screens allows you to take the screen’s functionality further, using images and design elements that direct your viewers to take additional action.

How to Create YouTube End Screens

Want to know how to create YouTube end screens? Snappa’s template library and custom graphic tool make it quick and easy to make professional-quality end screens for your YouTube videos.

You don’t have to be a graphic designer to create YouTube banners and end-screen designs that align with your brand identity and colors. Navigate through our library to find a pre-made template or make your own.

Here’s how it works.

1. To access the templates, login to your Snappa account. From the main page, scroll down to Headers, Banners, and Profile Pages. Click the YouTube End Screen icon.

2. Scroll through the templates until you find one that looks like a good fit for your brand.

How to Create an End Screen in YouTube

Once you’ve uploaded your video, it’s time to add an end screen in YouTube. To get started, open a new browser window and navigate to YouTube.

1. From the homepage, select Your Channel from the left-hand navigation bar.

2. Your channel’s home screen will appear. Click Create to get started.

3. If you don’t have videos uploaded already, you’ll need to upload one to add an end screen. Go ahead and click Upload Video.

Alternatively, you can edit an existing video if it’s over 25 seconds long. Videos shorter than 25 seconds can’t have an end screen.

YouTube video creation process

4. Upload your video content and add metadata. This includes information like your title, description, thumbnail, audience, age restrictions, category, and language.

Once you’ve filled in your information, click Next in the lower right corner.

5. From here, you can add your end screen. Click the Add button to get started.

6. Select which elements you want to incorporate as part of your end screen. For instance, you can prompt viewers to subscribe, watch another video, visit a playlist, or subscribe to your channel.

For this end screen, I want to display an avatar with a link to subscribe, a thumbnail of a relevant video, and a link to one of my playlists. Once I select my choice, I can see a preview of the end screen.

When it comes to linking video thumbnails, YouTube offers three choices. You can link your most recently uploaded video, a video that’s best for the viewer, or a specific video from your collection. It’s also possible to link a playlist.

4 Best Practices to Get More Out of YouTube End Screens

Now that you know how to create YouTube end screens, it’s time to get the most out of them. Here are some excellent examples from brands and content creators maximizing their end screens.

1. Ask Users to Take a Relevant Action

Depending on the topic of your video, you can use your end screens to ask users to take a relevant action. This could be directing them to a special offer, an event, or your website. It can also look like asking them to like, comment, and share.

It’s important to make sure the offer is relevant to the viewer and their stage in your sales funnel. Don’t send viewers to products, services, or events that aren’t featured in the video or relevant to it.

Take a look at how Salesforce uses its end screen to invite viewers to its annual Dreamforce event. The end screen features an on-brand design that points the viewer toward the appropriate URL where they can register to attend. An additional thumbnail links to a relevant video.

Salesforce YouTube video end screens encouraging users to attend their next event.

2. Send Users to A Related Video

End screens are great for sending users to a related video so they can continue watching your content. YouTube end screens allow for up to two video thumbnails, so you can give your viewers more than one next step to choose from.

Video thumbnails can appear in combination with a subscribe button or a playlist link. Take a look at this end screen by Gary Vaynerchuk, which features one prominent video link along with a subscribe button.

YouTube video end screen encouraging users to like, subscribe, and watch another video.

3. Ask Viewers to Subscribe

Your YouTube end screen is a great place to drive subscriptions. Asking your viewers to subscribe means more of your content gets delivered to them automatically. That’s a great CTA for any stage of the funnel.

YouTube’s options allow users to add a subscribe button on the end screen. But you can use great graphic design, such as a template from Snappa, to tie the visuals together.

Take a look at this end screen from Purple Carrot, which prompts viewers to subscribe with both an interactive button and a well-designed graphic.

4. Share Outtakes

Giving viewers a glimpse behind the scenes can help them feel more connected to your brand. Using your end screen to share outtakes is a great way to deepen that connection while taking advantage of thumbnails and other interactive elements.

For instance, YouTube creator Salma Jafri gets the most out of her YouTube end screen by including video outtakes, a video thumbnail, a link to a playlist, and a subscribe button.

YouTube video that engages users with video outtakes and links to playlists.

Final Thoughts

Creating engaging, beautifully designed end screens for your YouTube videos is a fantastic way to keep your viewers coming back for more. Now that you’ve learned how to design your end screens and get the most out of them, it’s time to put them to work for you.

Instagram hashtags can help you get your brand in front of more users on the platform.

While Instagram is best known for its visuals—and now its video content, such as Reels—hashtags help make your posts more specific. With Instagram hashtags, you can tell the platform more about who should be seeing your content.

Wondering how hashtags on Instagram work and why you should be using them? Let’s jump right into it.

Why Do Instagram Hashtags Matter?

Instagram hashtags can strengthen your presence on the platform when you use them to their full potential. For example, hashtags can help you boost your reach and find more relevant users.

Users search for and follow specific hashtags on Instagram because they want to see new content associated with those topics. Accounts that don’t get in on the hashtag game are definitely missing out on potential warm leads.

For businesses and influencers on Instagram, using custom, branded hashtags helps to build brand awareness. They’re great for getting users to share your content, and can be used in user-generated content (UGC) campaigns to track others’ posts about you.

Instagram hashtags can also add personality to your account. Beyond reach and branding, using a fun, catchy hashtag can boost engagement and give you a quirky trend to share with your followers.

How Much Do Instagram Hashtags Actually Matter?

Instagram hashtags are just one piece of your overall marketing strategy on the platform. They’re not the most important part, but they do give Instagram context for what kind of content you post.

Your hashtags on Instagram can also help you find the right audience for your posts. If you want to reach specific demographics of followers who are interested in the types of content you post, then hashtags can play a part in getting your posts in front of them.

When you use Instagram hashtags, it’s important to select and include them in your posts strategically. While they may not be as critical as your Reels and images on Instagram, they can absolutely help you gain traction.

Let’s take a look at some of the ways you can put Instagram hashtags to work for your brand.

How Many Instagram Hashtags Should I Use?

Instagram lets you include up to 30 hashtags in post captions. However, the Instagram Creators account has advised users to stick to a 3-5 hashtag limit in captions.

Instagram hashtag tips from Instagram's creators account

An updated report from Mention that compares average engagement rate to hashtag count backs this guidance up. The report indicates that Instagram posts with 4 hashtags see the second highest average engagement rate, while posts with 1 hashtag experience the lowest.

Still, don’t be afraid to switch it up. The same report indicates that posts with 11+ hashtags have the highest average engagement rate. The amount of hashtags you use will depend on your brand, industry, and the type of content that resonates best with your audience.

Some brands on Instagram prefer to only use one or two hashtags per caption. Others use 10, 20, or even the full 30-hashtag limit.

Remember that you can also use hashtags in your Instagram Stories. Give that a try to see what’s most effective for you.

(If you need stellar visuals for your Stories, Snappa can help with that. We have a guide to help you get the perfect Instagram Story dimensions here.)

Keep an eye on your hashtag analytics and use different numbers and combinations of hashtags. When you test a variety of options for your brand, you’ll get a clearer picture of what you should be replicating.

How to Find Great Instagram Hashtags to Include In Your Post

Now that you know the basics of hashtags on Instagram, let’s take a look at how to find great hashtags to include in your posts and Stories.

1. Make a List of Topics Related to Your Brand

First, build a list of topics related to your brand. What product or service do you offer? What kinds of content are your target customers looking for?

Then, research your current analytics. It doesn’t hurt to look at website and Google analytics in addition to your social media stats. This information can tell you a lot about what your users are actively searching for when they come to you.

Getting a good idea of the mix of topics you should be posting about will help you when you research hashtags. You can build your hashtag list using that information.

2. Use Hashtag Tools

Once you’ve written your list of topics, use hashtag tools such as Later to help you conduct your research. You want to make sure you’re landing on real hashtags that are actually in use on Instagram.

If Instagram users aren’t actively using or searching for a specific hashtag, then there’s no need to include it. The only exception is when it’s a branded hashtag you’re creating as part of your Instagram marketing strategy.

Once you’ve decided which strategic hashtags you’d like to use, incorporate a hashtag tracking tool to keep an eye on what’s working and what’s not. Tools such as RiteTag can give you analytics on specific hashtags and their performance.

On the other hand, tools like Later can tell you more about overall post performance and how your hashtag use factors in.

3. Look At Hashtags Other Brands Are Using

Take a look at your competition on Instagram. Which hashtags are they using?

Are they including hashtags you could also incorporate into your Instagram content? Try it out to see how your posts’ performance changes.

You’ll want to make sure you’re not lifting any brand-specific hashtags they’ve created for themselves. Only use hashtags that are generally available.

Next, take a look at your own primary hashtags. Which of those are your competitors using?

You can search those hashtags on Instagram to find out what other posts are incorporating your primary hashtags. This method could give you additional inspiration for your own content.

A screenshot of Instagram hashtag search

4. Make Your Own Branded Hashtag

Creating your own branded hashtag for your Instagram presence is a great way to set your posts apart.

Branded hashtags from Redbull's Instagram account

As your brand grows, ask users to include your branded hashtag in posts about you or your products. This will help you keep track of posts, particularly if you’re going to be incorporating UGC into your content strategy.

In addition to a branded hashtag, you can create campaign-specific hashtags to use during special events. These are great for challenges, giveaways, or product launches.

Final Thoughts

When used thoughtfully and strategically, Instagram hashtags can be an effective way to target the audience you want to reach. They can also help your branded posts stand out to current and prospective followers.

Of course, to get the maximum effect out of your hashtags, you’ll need great Instagram visuals, too. Snappa can help with that. It’s free to get started with our easy-to-use templates and design tools. Click here to sign up!

Your Discord banner is the image that appears above your verified server’s listing. Banners on Discord are also a perk of the platform’s paid Nitro membership. Users who opt-in to the upgraded membership have the option of adding a banner to their profile.

When you search Discord for public servers, you’ll see a list of available servers, complete with banner images. Take a look:

Banners in Discord can create a powerful first impression for users looking to join new and exciting channels. Attention-grabbing banners capture user attention and make them want to know more about your server. They’re also a great chance to show people what you’re all about and help them decide whether your content is going to be right for them. It’s also a quick way for users to identify whose channel they’re visiting.

Discord Server Banner Sizing: What You Need to Know

Discord server banner size guide

Discord recommends a server banner size of 960 x 540 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:9. If you have an image that is 1920 x 1080 pixels, then Discord will automatically resize it when you upload it. The supported file types are PNG, JPG, or GIF, and the banner file must be under 10 MB. You can even use animated GIFs for some added pizzazz.

When it comes to Discord profile banners, the size requirements are slightly different. Discord recommends a profile banner size of 600 x 240 pixels.

Discord also recommends keeping the upper 48 pixels of your image simplistic. You’ll want to keep it free of busy graphic design, illustration, or images, because you want users to be able to easily identify your channel and read the name without issues.

To make things easy, you can use Snappa to create a custom-sized image for your Discord banner. Our easy design tools and huge photo library make it simple to create a Discord server banner that is a great fit for your brand.

Discord Banner Regulations

As you create your own Discord banner, you’ll want to keep Discord’s community guidelines in mind. Your Discord banner cannot contain any 18+ adult content, even if your channel itself contains gated adult content. Because users of all ages will see your Discord banner, you’ll need to abide by this guideline.

Images on Discord can’t depict explicit content, violence or hate speech, gore, cruelty to animals or other people, or any illegal behavior.

Discord Server Banner Best Practices

If you’re ready to create a Discord banner for your server, there are some important best practices you need to follow. Let’s take a look at some of the general guidelines.

Avoid Images with Logos or Text

According to Discord’s guidelines, you should avoid using images with logos or text for your Discord banner. Instead, choose clear imagery with plenty of breathing room that represents your brand values. Consider using a custom-designed image if available. If not, a clean, colorful stock image that aligns with your brand will work well.

snappa mountains image

Logos and text will take away from your Discord banner and make it difficult for users to read your server’s title. Your logo is better used as your Discord profile image. Reserve additional text for your About section and leave it out of your images altogether.

Use An Image That Represents Your Game or Brand

According to Discord, you should choose imagery that represents your game or brand. If you’re running a game-centric server, then choose a high-quality image from the game as your Discord banner. For brands, you may want to make a custom Discord banner image that aligns with your brand guidelines. For this purpose, Snappa has a library with millions of free stock images and graphics to choose from.

Cyberpunk Discord server banner image example

If your brand is outdoorsy, consider using a clear landscape that’s not too busy (i.e., if you run a server for hikers, you might use an image featuring mountains). If your server is all about dancing, consider an image of dancing shoes. Or, if your server is for avid travelers, consider an image that features an airplane against a clear blue sky.

Choose an Image That is Easy to Make Out

Next, choose an image for your Discord banner that’s easy to make out at a glance. It should not be overly cluttered and should contain clearly defined figures, contrasting colors, and potential white space. Remember that users may need to view this image on their mobile devices, so choose an image that will be easy to view in a smaller format.

Simple Discord server banner image example

Choosing an image that’s easy on the eyes and simple to understand will help draw more users to your server. If you leave them with any confusion whatsoever as to what your server is about, they’re going to pass you by. Make sure you select a clearly defined image to prevent that from happening, if possible.

You need to use the perfect Instagram Reels size to make the best Reels video for your brand.

Using mobile video to its full potential means knowing what size your videos should be. This is essential for platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Optimizing your mobile video size ensures that your content will look its best on any platform.

When you use the perfect Instagram Reels size, your video content will be formatted correctly and will be more likely to grab and keep your followers’ attention.

Why You Should Be Making Instagram Reels

If you’re wondering whether you need to be making Instagram Reels for your brand, the answer is yes!

Reels are at the forefront of Instagram’s video-centric strategy. The platform is aiming to compete with TikTok’s short-form vertical videos, as well as YouTube Shorts. Instagram took this strategy a step further by moving all forms of video into Reels.

Home aesthetic Instagram Reels video

Mobile video has skyrocketed over the past several years, especially with the rise of mobile video apps such as TikTok. According to HubSpot, 67% of marketing professionals said that social media video gets the best ROI.

Reels get more likes and a broader reach than other forms of content posted to Instagram. According to research by Statista, Reels account for 33.8% of reach and 35.4% of likes on Instagram, respectively. So if you want to expand your reach on the platform, you want to get on board with video content.

Not only are Reels short, snappy, and entertaining; they’re also a way to show multiple facets of your brand personality. You can use Reels to show off your products, services, team, and what goes on behind the scenes at your business. If you’re a personal brand, you can use Reels to speak directly to your audience.

The Exact Dimensions of Instagram Reels

To make your Reels the perfect size for Instagram, they should be 1080px x 1920px with a 9:16 aspect ratio. This is the best Reels size for mobile viewing because your content will utilize the entire screen.

Lighting setup Instagram Reels example

Reels can now be up to 3 minutes long, with a 2,200-character maximum on the caption. Just like Instagram photo posts, you should use relevant keywords and hashtags in your caption to broaden your reach. Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags per caption, so take advantage of that leverage.

When you create a Reel on Instagram, you can use pre-recorded videos from your camera roll or record multiple clips that equal up to 3 minutes in length, but 90 second Reels are often recommended for the best results.

How to Make an Instagram Reel

Now that you know what Instagram Reels size you should be using, let’s quickly walk through how to make a Reel for your Instagram account.

  1. From your feed, click the plus (+) button in the menu bar at the bottom.
A screenshot showing the Instagram create button for Reels
  1. At the bottom of your screen, select Reel, then you can tap to add pre-recorded videos to your Reel, or tap Camera to record a new video.

  1. Next, you can adjust the length of your Reel, and use the Instagram Reel Editor to add text, stickers, music, effects, and more! You can also download the Reel to your device.

  1. Once you’re finished editing, you can select a frame from your Reel or upload a custom thumbnail by tapping Edit Cover. Then, type in your Instagram Reel caption and choose your preferred settings. This includes tagging people, choosing an audience, pinning your location, and more. After your settings are finalized, just tap Share to post your Reel!

That’s it! Don’t be afraid to experiment with different Reels filters, features, and trends to get the maximum impact out of every video.

6 Instagram Reels Best Practices

Now that you know how to make Reels (and what size you should be making them), let’s go over a few best practices you should always stick to.

  1. Create branded thumbnails for your Reels for a consistent look on your feed. At 1080px x 1920px, Snappa’s customizable Instagram Story templates are the perfect size and aspect ratio for your Instagram Reels.
  2. Keep your Reels short and snappy. You don’t always have to use the full 3 minutes allotted. Sometimes, less is more.
  3. Make it your goal to engage viewers within the first few seconds so they don’t scroll away.
  4. Make sure to use good lighting and clear audio. While you don’t necessarily need studio-quality lighting, you do want to make sure your videos are well-lit and that people can hear you clearly.
  5. Choose music from the Facebook Sound Collection for your branded videos. This music library for Facebook and Instagram contains royalty-free music businesses can use for Reels to avoid potential copyright issues.
  6. Use the right video format for Instagram. If you upload video clips to Reels rather than recording them directly to the app, make sure you’re using MP4 files.

Final Thoughts

You now know how to make Reels, what size they should be, and the best practices to get started. If you need an easy design tool to create high-quality Reels thumbnails, Snappa can help. There’s no question that Twitch is a dominant force in the live streaming industry. With over 2.41 million concurrent viewers and 21.4 billion hours watched, Twitch has become the go-to platform for e-sports streaming. Live streaming is way more accessible than it was years ago, and gamers of all ages are creating Twitch channels worldwide to showcase their gameplay.

When learning how to grow on Twitch, it’s important to use the best Twitch banner size with professional-looking visuals to help your channel stand out from the rest.

To make things easy, we have compiled the correct Twitch image sizes and channel best practices to take your Twitch channel to the next level!

Bonus: We’ve integrated Twitch banner dimensions into our graphic design tool. Create a Twitch banner for free!

What is the Twitch banner size?

The recommended Twitch Banner Size is 1200px by 480px with an aspect ratio of 5:2

Twitch banner size dimensions

According to Twitch, the ideal Twitch Profile Banner size is 1200 pixels wide and 480 pixels in height, but the quality can be significantly reduced on larger monitors, so we recommend doubling the pixel size to ensure the best results on a retina screen.

If you’re wondering how to make a Twitch banner the easy way, we have free Twitch Banner templates to fit all of your channel needs!

Twitch Profile Banner Display

If you leave your Twitch banner set to default, it will display a purple background color with your channel name repeated across the banner, as shown on NBA’s Twitch profile. You can change the color by selecting a new Profile Accent Color in your channel settings, but to get the best results, we recommend uploading your own custom Twitch banner.

With Twitch video overlays now taking up the center of the banner, the best Twitch banners we’ve seen are ones that use simple patterns and backgrounds. This is also why we recommend using minimal text for your new Twitch banner. Think of it as a subtle background image that helps set the mood for your channel.

If you’re looking to create a custom Twitch cover photo in less than 5 minutes, check out our video tutorial that outlines all the important steps. It’s super easy to repurpose our pre-sized Twitch banner templates for your own Twitch channel!

What is the Twitch Profile Picture Size?

The recommended Twitch profile picture size is 256px by 256px with an aspect ratio of 1:1. But, we recommend using dimensions of 800px by 800px or larger for maximum quality.

If you don’t want to stress about getting the sizing right, you can create a Twitch profile photo for free using Snappa’s profile picture maker. All of Snappa’s Twitch templates are already pre-sized to the correct dimensions.

Examples of The Best Twitch Banners

Using text to relay important information is a great way to make a professional Twitch banner, just make sure that the text is minimal and doesn’t get cut off by video overlays. The Riot Games Twitch channel does this perfectly. In the example below, they place text at the top of their Twitch profile banner to share important information about upcoming e-sports championships.

Riot Games Twitch banner example

Repetition can be a powerful visual tool. The LIBfestival electronic music channel is a great example of this, as their Twitch banner is a playful pattern created from their lightning bolt logo. This not only compliments their visual branding, but it also adds a striking look to their Twitch profile.

Including your personal logo is a great way to fill out your Twitch banner. Having your personal logo displayed will help with your personal branding and increase brand recognition. If you use your logo on other social media platforms like X (Twitter), YouTube, or Facebook, your viewers will know right away if they found you through Twitch.

Twitch Channel Best Practices

1. Include relevant colors, photos, and icons

If you’re part of a team or an organization, include your team’s logo and team colors in your Twitch banner. Creating a memorable banner that your viewers will recognize can help you grow on Twitch.

2. Minimize use of text

Having too much text on your Twitch images can be overwhelming for viewers. The text on your Twitch profile banner should provide key information without ruining the visual aesthetic. Make sure to only include text that adds value.

3. Stay consistent

Whether you’re creating a Twitch offline banner or a Twitch panel image, make sure that your visuals are consistent. For the best results, try to use the same fonts, colors, and design layouts. The best Twitch channels all have consistency in their channel images.

Other Twitch Channel Sizes

Along with the Twitch banner size and Twitch profile picture size, you can also create other graphics to help your Twitch channel stand out.

Twitch Video Player Banner (Twitch Offline Banner Size) – 1920 x 1080 pixels

Twitch Panel Size – 320 x 160 pixels

Twitch Overlay Size – 1920 x 1080 pixels

Twitch Web Cam Slot Size – 1920 x 1080 pixels (16:9 webcams) / 1600 x 1200 pixels (4:3 webcams)

Twitch Emote Size – 112 x 112 pixels / 56 x 56 pixels / 28 x 28 pixels

How to write a Facebook bio blog featured image

When you think about social media marketing, you might be focused on post creation, social branding, and finding ways to scale your content across multiple platforms. You think about groups and hashtags and images and video playlists. When you’re caught up in all the continual, ongoing details meant to keep your audience engaged, it’s easy to overlook one crucial part of social media marketing: How to write a strong social media bio.

All social media bio sections are important, but few are as important as they are on Facebook, where you’ve got plenty of room to share valuable information and really make it count.

Since your Facebook bio can absolutely influence your success on social media, let’s take some time to go over how to write the perfect Facebook bio for your Page. We’ll take you step by step through the process so that you can have an engaging, informative, heavily-branded, and SEO-friendly Facebook profile for your business.

Why Your Facebook Bio is Important

Your Facebook profile bio is the information that you share in the “Intro” section of your Facebook Page. It’s going to convey key information about your business and brand that users need to know. This also includes a short description, the industry of your business, your contact details, and your website URL.

Facebook bio example from Salesforce's Facebook Page

Your Facebook profile bio is important for multiple reasons. The primary reason is that its prime real estate for you to share key information about your business’s hours, location,  mission, unique selling proposition (USP), and even price range. Since Facebook could easily be the first touchpoint for your target audience, this is essential; you want to get it right. This is your chance to introduce them to your business in a heavily-branded way, making a big impression

Your Facebook bio also gives you a chance to optimize your Page to rank well in Facebook’s organic search engine. Your bio will show up in search results under your brand name, and it can impact what results you show up in. Just as you’d optimize your site with keywords, you want to do the same for Facebook.

How to Write the Perfect Facebook Bio in 5 Easy Steps

Ready to write a strong, engaging, and high-performing Facebook bio that will serve your business well? All it takes is five easy steps.

1. Set Up Your Intro Section With Core Information

Start with the basics. Your followers need to know what your business does, what industry it’s in, the URL for your website, and how to get in touch with you. It’s easiest to start simple and build your profile from there.

Go to the “Intro” section on your Facebook Page, and fill in every relevant field that you can. This includes the following:

  • Bio/description
  • Business category
  • Contact info
  • Address
  • Operating hours
  • Website
  • Social links

Your “bio” section is particularly important. You only have 255 characters, so you want to make them count. Take time to talk about exactly what your brand offers and what makes you different. Snappa isn’t just a photo editor, for example; it’s an intuitive drag-and-drop design tool with thousands of free stock images and ready-made templates that can help even newbies create stunning graphics to help their brand grow.

2. Highlight Your USP In Your Bio

Your unique selling proposition (USP) is what makes your brand different and valuable to your target audience. It is, essentially, why they should choose to use your service or purchase from you instead of a competitor.

It’s essential to highlight the value that your business offers in your Facebook bio.

If you want to include additional information about your business’s USP that doesn’t fit in the “bio” section of your Facebook Page, you can click on the “About” tab and edit the “Details about you” section. There is no character limit here, allowing you to explain in-depth what your business and brand has to offer.

Facebook About description example from Under The Canopy's Facebook Page

Under the Canopy’s Facebook Page is a great example of how to utilize these features. Their “bio” and “About” sections drive their core, branded point home: stylish and innovative products that are good for the environment, and better for you. This is the kind of impact you want to make; you want users to know exactly who you are.

3. Optimize for SEO

Take a look at your Facebook bio, and look for opportunities for SEO. Users are absolutely using Facebook as a search engine to discover new businesses, so you want to make sure that your profile is optimized for that.

Think about what users will search for when they’re looking for businesses like yours.

Facebook SEO example on Facebook's search engine

If I’m a gelato shop, for example, I can expect for people to be searching for any of the following terms when they’re looking for a business like mine:

  • Gelato
  • Gelataria
  • Gelato shop
  • Ice cream shop
  • Authentic gelato
  • [Location] dessert (IE: Dallas dessert)

Work these into your Story, your bio, and about section whenever possible. You don’t want to go overboard on the keywords, but having at least one keyword in each section is a good call.

4. Add a Brand Story

This is a tip that is very effective for building brand loyalty. Tell followers about your story.

Since it has no character limit, the “Details about you” section gives you a lot more room to tell your brand’s story and sell your USP. Sharing your brand story helps followers and new customers understand your values and what sets you apart. It builds consumer trust and can make your brand more relatable and memorable.

Your story should still be relatively simple, but remember to include enough engaging and valuable information that can help you connect with your target audience.

Facebook bio story section example from Bo's Coffee Facebook Page

5. Proofread

This is a straightforward step, but it’s important so we’re throwing it in here!

After you’ve gone through and created your Facebook bio, give it a few minutes. Walk away, grab a drink, take the dogs around the block. Then come back with fresh eyes and proofread it.

Make sure that everything is spelled correctly and uses proper grammar. Typos happen to the best of us. You also want to make sure that everything reads as cleanly as possible. You want your bio to be easily skimmable, so cut anything that doesn’t add to the immediate impact of what you’re doing.

When in doubt, ask a friend or colleague to look it over. A second set of eyes is always good, especially for something that can influence customers’ perceptions of you.

Final Thoughts

Your bio is your chance to set your business apart, sell your brand, and go all-in on convincing users that they have to do business with you. You don’t want to waste that opportunity, so take some time to do it right and create a high-converting Facebook bio that really sells your USP and sets you apart.

And while you’re at it, make sure that the rest of your profile looks great, too. Learn more about creating killer profile pictures and Facebook cover photos.

Best logo size for all platforms

It’s always a good idea to use a consistent logo across your entire online presence, including your website, social media profiles, and online directories. A clean, well-designed logo will help boost your brand recognition, ultimately making your overall marketing strategy more effective.

While using one logo is the way to go, you’ll likely need variations of it in all different shapes and sizes. That’s because every platform that makes up your online presence has slightly different logo size requirements.

Why Logo Size Matters

When it comes to your logo, size matters because you want your brand to show up in a clear and recognizable way. That means your logo must display at the best possible quality for any given platform.

For a logo to look great across all platforms, it must be optimized to each one individually. You want to use the right pixel dimensions to achieve maximum quality and an optimal file size.

A website header is obviously going to need a different pixel size than a favicon, for example. But beyond that, your ideal website logo size will vary depending on which platform is hosting your site.

Best Logo Sizes for Different Platforms

logo orientation example

The ideal logo size is really on a platform-by-platform basis. Depending on which platforms you use, you’ll want to get familiar with the logo variations you’re going to need so you can show up online in the best possible way. Depending on the platform, you might choose between either a vertical, horizontal, or favicon (icon without text) variation.

Website Header

Your website header logo will most likely appear in the upper left corner of your browser window. Sometimes, you’ll see a site logo displayed in the top center of the page. These images are normally small and rectangular.

Website logo sizes vary based on platform requirements. Depending on which framework you’re building on, you’ll want to find out the exact dimensions for your site logo. Generally speaking, a good baseline logo size is 250 x 100 pixels.

Other possible website logo size variations include:

  • 250 x 150 pixels
  • 350 x 75 pixels
  • 400 x 100 pixels
  • 160 x 160 pixels (square for vertical layouts)

If you want a full header for your website rather than a small logo, you’ll need an image optimized at 1024 x 768 pixels.

Take a look at the following site logo example. Nikon’s website displays a small, square logo in the top left corner of the page. Notice how the image is simple, recognizable, and easy to read.

Website header logo size example from Nikon

Favicon

A favicon is a small logo that appears in your browser tab to identify the specific website you’re visiting. These images are usually a scaled-down version of your logo. It can also be a derivative variation of your logo that’s still recognizable within your visual branding.

You’ll often see favicons on your favorite branded websites. Here’s an example:Favicon logo size example from Dribbble

When you create a favicon, you’ll want to use a small, square image. While you’ll commonly see favicons coming in at 16 x 16 pixels, other square dimensions will work, such as 32 x 32 pixels or 48 x 48 pixels.

Social Media

Social media logo icons vary from one platform to another. Let’s take a look at the dimensions you’ll need for your logo size across platforms.

  • Facebook: 196 x 196 pixels (both Pages and personal profiles)
  • Instagram: 320 x 320 pixels
  • X (Twitter): 400 x 400 pixels
  • YouTube: 800 x 800 pixels
  • TikTok: 200 x 200 pixels
  • Tumblr: 128 x 128 pixels
  • Pinterest: 165 x 165 pixels
  • LinkedIn: 400 x 400 pixels
  • Quora: 200 x 200 pixels

Email Signatures

When it comes to your email signature, size recommendations vary. The best logo size depends on your email platform and how the image will display for end-users.

You’ll likely want to keep your email signature size small but readable, similar to a website logo. Square versus rectangular images will depend on your personal preference, the email platform you use, and how it displays images.

A good starting point would be an image with a 150 to 300 pixel width, and you can adjust the size and dimensions based on your preferences.

To learn how to make a custom email signature the easy way, watch our full video walkthrough:

5 Logo Design Tips & Tricks

If you’re looking to design a professional branded logo for your online presence, there are some best practices and guidelines to follow. Let’s take a look at a few tips and tricks you can use to create a strong logo.

1. Create a unique, distinct logo that will look great, large or small

Creating a strong logo means you’ll need to consider how it will look at scale–large or small. If you shrink your logo for a social media platform or even a favicon, will it be recognizable? Will your users know what they’re looking at? Will they be able to recognize your logo or read it where needed?

2. Follow your brand style guide

When it comes to your logo, be sure to follow your brand style guide. Keep your colors and font consistent with your selected brand style (such as the colors you use on your website and in your marketing materials). This ensures your logo remains recognizable across your online presence and represents your brand well.

Brand style guide example from Tommy Hilfiger's Facebook page

3. Use the correct logo size for each platform

Using the correct logo size for each platform ensures that your logo will always look its best. Easy design tools like Snappa can help you resize and optimize your logo images for different platforms.

A screenshot showing how to resize a logo in Snappa

4. Include variations of your logo, both with and without text

Including logo variations with and without text means you’ll have options when it comes to displaying your logo across platforms. You can have a text-only version of your logo and a branded image icon to go with it.

You can use these logo variations interchangeably. For example, a design without text can be used as a favicon so it’s recognizable at a glance–since favicons are too small for site visitors to read.

5. Test logo variations

Test out different variations of your logo, including inverse colors, to see what works best for your brand. You may need to experiment with varying combinations of color and contrast, and whether or not to include your wordmark. In the end, you want an eye-catching design your followers will remember.

Another useful idea is to create a black, white, and full-color version of your logo. These variations will come in handy more than you might realize! If it’s a strong logo, it will look excellent in all three variations. Here’s our Snappa logo in all three styles:

Facebook groups are an essential part of social media marketing for an increasing number of businesses – especially those who are creating value-based groups for their clients. These groups are incredibly useful for establishing an online community!

Facebook groups are great for finding new ways to build relationships with your clients and to give them one-on-one support by offering new and exclusive information just for them. With Facebook group features being updated frequently, those groups are becoming even more useful for both businesses and the group’s members.

There’s a lot that goes into creating a great Facebook group, and most businesses end up so focused on the content and engagement that they forget about some of the smaller details that can make a big impact. One of those not-so-small details is your cover photo, which is so much more than “just a picture to fill the space.”

In this post, we’re going to look at how to create an incredible Facebook group cover image, including the perfect Facebook group cover photo size and the best practices you need to make your group stand out.

The Perfect Facebook Group Cover Photo Size

The perfect Facebook group cover photo size is 1640 x 856 pixels. These banner dimensions give a 1.91:1 aspect ratio.

If you don’t use these exact dimensions, you could risk having your cover photo cropped with crucial information cut out, like this:

Before you start creating a new cover photo, it’s important to know the ideal Facebook group cover photo size. This ensures that none of your images will be cropped incorrectly.

One thing that I want to address clearly here is that Facebook’s event cover photo and Facebook’s personal / business profiles use different cover photo dimensions.

This is important to know because a lot of brands try to use their Facebook Page cover photo image for their Facebook groups. The sizes are different and are not optimized to be displayed the same across different Facebook pages.

Why Your Facebook Group Cover Photo Matters

Your Facebook group cover photo is displayed across your entire group page, and it’s larger than the average Facebook Page or personal profile cover photo. There aren’t any group profile pictures here, so this is your one shot to make a big first impression with the right visuals.

Your group cover photo will set the tone for your group and can convey what it is that you’re trying to accomplish. A strong cover image can lend credibility to the group quickly and show that you’re taking it seriously.

Since cover photos are one of the only things you can see about a closed group before you’re granted entry, you need to be using it to your full advantage. Your cover image can help increase the number of potential members interested in joining.

Best Practices For Facebook Group Cover Photos

Aside from using the right cover photo size (which is so important it got its own section, so please take note of that!), there are some essential best practices you should follow when creating your own new group artwork.

Add Some Exposition

One purpose of a Facebook group cover photo is to capture the attention of potential new members and get them interested. Sometimes the best way to do that is to add text that explains exactly what your group offers in addition to strong visual components.

The Facebook group cover photo below does exactly that. Two short, descriptive lines of text with a sharp background image is all that’s needed.

Use Clean, High-Quality Images

When it comes to design, keeping it simple always works well because you can position the content you want to highlight front and center.

In this group cover photo example, the high-res image of the cocktail is the main focal point. If you pair this with a clear and catchy Facebook group title, you’ll have everything you need to draw interest to your group.

Include Visible Branding if Possible

If your Facebook group is connected to your business in any way, make sure to highlight this in your cover photo. If people are already following your Page and don’t know you have a group, this can clear up confusion.

Some businesses will add their brand logo front and center to their group cover image, as shown in the example below.

You can also choose to keep it subtle. This cover photo example places the brand name in small text to the right of the image in order to keep focus on the background photo and tagline. As long as your followers can track that it’s you and that what you’re doing in the group is making a branded impact, you’re all set.

Watch Out for Mobile-Only Cropping

This is a big one. The very top of your image and very bottom of your image will be cut on mobile devices, even when you’re using the ideal Facebook group cover photo size.

In order to prevent anything important from being chopped off (like key text or images), position your main design elements in the safe area. To make this process easy, the mobile device safe zone guidelines are already built in to all of Snappa’s group cover photo templates.

Conclusion

The cover photo you choose for your Facebook group will be one of the first things that potential members notice, and it can set the tone for the entire group. It’s important, and you should look at it as a key part of your group’s branding. If the group is connected to your business, it will directly reflect your business’s branding as well.

When you’re creating your cover photo, keep in mind that simple graphics can have great results, and the cover photo should encompass what the group is about. Use our best practices, and as always, make sure you’re using the perfect Facebook group cover photo size for maximum impact.
